Our absolute top fly reel model Excelsior is a dualmode reel. With this reel we have combined the advantages of Direct-Drive with those of an Antireverse System.
The principle of the Dualmode is easy to explain. During the reeling in of fly line, the handle and the spool are locked together (Direct Drive), giving you maximum power with no spool slipage. If the pressure on the fly line becomes too great, simply move the handle 5 degrees backwards or release the handle and the looking system will automatically disengage.
You are then able to fight the fish with the Antireverse system. This all occurs, well protected within the reel. The complete reel is saltwater resistant and almost indestructable.
